Quotidian Tee

I am so excited to share Quotidian Tee with you today! This project is designed to allow you to create your perfect knitted V-neck tee shirt. And I really do mean your perfect tee! Everyone has unique fit preferences - and your preferences may evolve based on the season, and also over the years. This pattern will continue to be a go-to all along the way with 24 ready-to-knit options where you can choose your silhouette, body length, and sleeve length - with even more opportunities for easy modifications.

Quotidian Tee is a seamless, set-in sleeve top with V neckline. The body is worked bottom up in the round, with the front and back knit flat above the armholes. The shoulders are joined with a 3 needle bind off. Set in-sleeves are worked from the top down with short row cap shaping, and the neckline trim is picked up and knit to finish the piece. There are 11 sizes ranging from 30-70" finished chest measurements - and of course plenty of opportunity for creating your perfect tee with the included fit options. This is worked up in fingering weight yarn, making it a go-to to top for much of the year.

I knit my sample in the size 38" with a semi-fitted waist, high hip length, and short sleeves. My full bust measures 39" in these photos so I am wearing the top with 1" of negative ease (the garment measures smaller than my body at the bust). I chose Coates & Co Fiber Cottage Sock, an Ohio dyer who makes the most stunning semi-solid colors.

— The Options —

There are a LOT of options included in the pattern, and even more when you include the modification tips along the way. Let's dive into the 3 main areas that you can customize.

  • Body Fit: Straight, A Line, Fitted (2 shaping options - Fitted or Semi-fitted)

  • Body Length: Cropped, High Hip, Mid-Hip
A-Line is only available in Mid-Hip Length. Fitted Crop requires following included modification tip.

  • Sleeve Length: Short Sleeve, Long Sleeve (Fitted or Relaxed).
Easy ¾ sleeve modification tip included!

To view all of the options before you purchase, I've created a free project planner that provides you with all of the information you’ll need to prepare for your project and get ready to cast on. Review the full schematic, measurement tables, and yardage quantities for every included option!

I recommend starting off by thinking about the body fit (aka silhouette) you'd like for your tee, then thinking about the body length, and lastly the sleeves. Outside of the included options & modification tips, the stockinette body makes it easy to make this tee your own if you'd like to pursue other modifications that aren't written in!
