Knot Front Tee DK
It's time to get started on fall sweater knitting! Yes, really - I know summer just officially started, but the beginning of fall is a few short months away. I don't know about you, but I'm not the type of knitter who can crank out a sweater in a couple of weeks on a regular basis. I usually need at least a month, if not two! Which means now is indeed the prime time to get started on sweaters.
Knot Front Tee DK is the latest addition to my sweater designs. This top is knit seamlessly - worked from the bottom up, and then the set in sleeves are worked top down - so you’ll be able to wear this (nearly) right off the needles. The twist cinches up the center, making it perfect for wearing with high waisted pants or layered over dresses! Creating the twisted front is very similar to knitting a cable, and the pattern includes an illustrated tutorial and video link so you can work through this section with confidence.
I worked up my Knot Front Tee DK in Knit Picks Swish DK in Lost Lake Heather. This is a very nice yet very affordable superwash merino yarn - the largest size with long sleeves will run you less than $100, all the way down to less than $25 for the smallest size with short sleeves. Most DK weight yarns from your favorite indie dyers will sub in beautifully too. I knit up the size 36", and I'm wearing it with 2" of negative ease at my full bust. To achieve a similar look, choose a size that is the same size as your full bust measurement or up to 4” smaller for the DK weight Tee (stockinette is stretchy, I promise!) There are 3 sleeve length options, so you can work up your tee with short, 3/4, or long sleeves.
